Counseling vs Coaching

Updated: Jul 24, 2023

Hello everyone,

I wanted to share my journey over the past few decades. In the late '70s, I started a short-term counseling business called Alternatives, utilizing Transpersonal Therapy to mend the mind, body, spirit, and emotions. After 20 years of private practice, I closed my office and moved to a rural area near Woodstock, NY, where I co-created Hospice of Ulster County, wrote group exercises, and trained volunteers. Wanting a breather from the seriousness of Hospice, I began teaching art classes and promoting art exhibits for Senior Citizens in the Towns of Woodstock and Olive. Being a creative writer, I completed my memoir, Confessions of a Bar Brat.

I then began seeking something that excited me more than what I had already done. That's when I discovered an online class on life coaching. It didn't take long to realize that coaching was essentially what I had been doing 20 years ago with my short-term counseling! I decided to return to what I truly love: helping clients heal from trauma, abuse, grief, loneliness, sadness, and anger.

I work intuitively and co-creatively with my clients to create a plan to bring happiness by examining their thoughts, words, and beliefs. Together, we Reset their Mindset to overcome life challenges.

I know that life can be brutal, and everyone needs support occasionally. That's why I'm here to offer my services to anyone who needs immediate short-term help. So, whether you're 20 or 60, I'm here to assist you mend your mind, body, spirit, and emotions. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me if you need support.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story. I hope it inspires you to pursue what makes you happy and fulfilled.
