Counseling vs Coaching
Hello everyone,
I wanted to share my journey over the past few decades. In the late '70s, I started a counseling business called Alternatives, which focused on short-term Transpersonal Counseling to help mend the mind, body, spirit, and emotions. After 20 years of private practice, I closed my office and moved to a rural area near Woodstock, NY, where I co-created Hospice of Ulster County, wrote group exercises, and trained volunteers. Later, I began teaching art classes and holding exhibits for Senior Citizens in the Towns of Woodstock and Olive and wrote my memoir, Confessions of a Bar Brat.
Recently, I searched for something that excited me more than what I was doing. That's when I discovered an online class on coaching. I tried it and realized that coaching was essentially what I had been doing 20 years ago with my short-term counseling. I decided to return to what I love: helping clients heal from trauma, abuse, grief, loneliness, sadness, and anger.
I work intuitively and co-creatively with my clients to create a plan to bring happiness by examining their thoughts, words, and beliefs. Together, we Reset their Mindset to overcome life challenges.
I know that life can be brutal, and everyone needs support occasionally. That's why I'm here to offer my services to anyone who needs immediate short-term help. So, whether you're 20 or 60, I'm here to help you mend your mind, body, spirit, and emotions. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me if you need support.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story. I hope it inspires you to pursue what makes you happy and fulfilled.
